50+ years in Education: Teaching, Coaching, Administration, & Finances

  • 11 years working in “Financial Services” Industry
    • originally obtained Series 6 and 63 license
      • emphasis on the following courses to obtain licenses
        • Social Security
        • Healthcare
        • Medicare
        • Long Term Care
      • Rich no longer retains his licenses because he does not “sell” any products; purely “educational.”
  • Currently employed by IES
    • His focus with IES is: Social Security, SSDI, SSI, Medicare, Medicaid
  • Social Security Work
    • Rich is currently on Social Security with a wife who is on a “spousal” benefit.
    • He has attended Social Security focused workshops.
    • He has personal contacts with Social Security representatives the following Missouri areas: St. Louis, Jefferson City, Kansas City & Union.
    • Rich has given over 50 workshops (educational events) to such school districts such as Lindbergh, Fox, SSD, Hazelwood & Rockwood. He has also presented to the Missouri Retired Teachers Association, Kirksville/Hannibal financial organizations & Ameren UE.
    • He has compiled a notebook four inches thick of various cases & exceptions to the Social Security rules and regulations.
    • Rich also works with “homeless” people trying to navigate the SSDI/SSI systems.
  • Medicare Work
    • Rich took many courses on Medicare, Medicaid, Long Term Care& Health Insurance while studying for his Insurance & Securities license.
    • He and his wife are currently on Medicare.
    • He has given over 100 Educational Events on Medicare to various school districts and professional businesses and organizations.
  • Family —- and other endeavors
    • Married for 51 years with 6 children & 19 grandchildren
    • Coached basketball at the high school and college levels
      • Won 3 state championships at Desmet (at one time won 63 games in a row)
      • Coached 10 years at St. Louis University
      • 2nd all time in career longevity and career win list & Won 27 games in 1987
    • He has written two books on coaching
    • Won MAC Sportsman of the Year Award and & is a member of 6 Halls of Fame
    • He has conducted basketball clinics in Europe, Korea, Japan & Alaska
